Camping Engagement Session with Alixe and Mike || Vancouver Wedding Photographer

I met with Alixe and Mike on a typical west coast afternoon…..overcast with a side of showers. Despite the clouds it was perfection in terms of photography.  Nothing better the even light!

Together Alixe and Mike set up a tent, stoked a fire, roasted marshmallows, sipped wine and went on a boat ride.   Alixe and I called it going “Glamping” (Glamourous Camping).   Alixe’s hair, make-up and wardrobe made this session have a upscale down to earth feel.

The best part is that everything they brought meaning to them as a couple and I am all about that.   I want to create photographs that tell a story about the couple.   There is nothing more romantic then a warm cozy fire, a glass of wine and snuggling with the person you love!

Alixe’s Make-Up was done by Lauren MacLean.

Jamie and Jeff’s City meets Country Engagement Shoot || Vancouver Wedding Photographer

Three Reasons why you’ll love this engagement shoot

3. It honours L.O.V.E between an amazing couple!
I am over the moon excited to share with you this amazing engagement session featuring Jamie and Jeff.  This wonderful couple is tying the knot in June at Queen Elizabeth Park, followed by a reception at UBC boathouse.    As my work is based on the personality of my clients, I always want to shoot photographs in a place that holds personal meaning.   For Jeff the European City look  and Jamie that down to earth country feel.  We shot first in Vancouver’s historic Gastown.  We strolled through the cobbled streets. Explored historic buildings, courtyards and mews.   We created playful photos with bubblegum and heart shaped glasses.  Also we played on the softer side of love with a little romance.
From there we headed to a farm in Ladner, BC.  The farm owned by Audrey and Kevin Harris called Heron Bay Stables has an amazing farm house, along with horses, chickens and barn.  We threaded the colour pink throughout the shoot with a vintage pink dress, bubble gum pink mylar balloon and ofcourse cherry blossoms.  I want to personally thank both Kevin and Audrey (and their horse Annie) for allowing to use this amazing piece of property.   Heron Bay Stables has been used in many commercials and by the movie industry…..Just ask Tori Spelling:)
I also want to thank Jamie and Jeff.  Your both amazing!  You were fearless…climbing hay bales, shooting in smoke and walking in a field of poop….All in the name of photography!  I can’t wait for your wonderful wedding!  xo Lisa

Chris and Katie’s Engagement Shoot in Gastown || Vancouver Wedding Photographer

Katie and Chris re-connected after highschool with the help of facebook.    Ironically, the highshool they attended was the same one my husband went to.  Vancouver is becoming a small world of unique connections.  The more I continue this I see that we are within one or two degrees of eachother lives.   We met in Gastown last week and shot some amazing photographs that celebrate their relationship.  Katie and Chris are tying the knot next month at V lounge in Yaletown and it’s going to be amazing!
